Is christianty paulism?

The True Founder of Christianity

The teachings of Paul, the true founder of Christianity, cannot be found anywhere in the teachings of Jesus or in those of prophets before him.

The following are some of the innovations that Paul introduced into "his" religion of Christianity.

1. The divinity of Jesus

2. The trinity

3. Atonement

4. Salvation by faith

it seems as though jesus was born and died like millions of people. maybe he was special maybe not. there were plenty of people who had special abilities in the past that wernt god. the point is chriostianity was formed after his death. it wasnt his religion it was pauls. paul just created a religion based on his acount of a man who died many eyars before him

***- credit goes to one of the members on this site with a nickname like a27z or something like that for asking some key questions

Is christianty paulism?
I read a27z's answer to your previous question, and it seems to me that you aren't looking for answers, you're only looking for people to agree with you. This is a sad state of affairs.

Paul did not create Christianity. He did not invent the divinity of Jesus, the Trinity, the Atonement or Salvation by faith.

Jesus, Himself, indicated His own divinity on numerous occasions.

For instance, when Peter said "You are the anointed son of God", Jesus said "You are right."

When the crowds wanted to stone Jesus, and he asked WHY, they said that it was because he claimed equlity with God.

When Jesus was on trial, the high priest asked him, "Are you the son of God?" Jesus said "yes!"

John 1:1 says that "in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" ... (v14) "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld His glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."

The book of revelations, written by John the beloved while exiled on the island of Patmos, indicated that Jesus is "the First and the Last, the Beginning and the Ending", just as God (Jehovah, if you please) said in Isaiah.

Paul's conversion was recorded in the book of Acts, as written by Luke, the very same Luke that wrote one of the gospels, and Luke also pointed out that the divinity of Jesus.

The concept of the Trinity starts back in Genesis 1, when it says "B'raishish bara Elohim (not "Eloheinu") es ha'sh'mayim v'es ho'oretz" - "In the beginning Elohim (God, pleural, not God singular) created the heavens and the earth." Farther down, it says, "And God (Elohim-pleural) said, 'Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness'."

Atonement by the blood of a sacrificial lamb was presented in the Law as "a shadow of better things to come", and when John baptized Jesus, he cried out, "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world."

Salvation is always by faith. "Abraham BELIEVED God, and that was accounted to him for his righteousness."
Reply:in a word, "yes"

and in re "not taking credit" ... take it the

passive-aggressive way left-hand-self back-patting

Tao-of-the-guilt-trip

Pizzaboy, the scales have fallen from your eyes LOLOL
Reply:You need to do some more research.

Paul was an apostle of God.

True Christianity is central to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

The atonement for mans sins, came about through Jesus

CHrist's, death on Calvary's cross, His Burial, and resurrection

from the grave; not the apostle Paul.
Reply:Yes the Pauline nonsense replaced the teachings of Jesus and became the religion we know of today as Christianity.

Love and blessings Don
Reply:Paul did not teach the trinity.

Paul taught us to worship the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Please note that the context “of” is the same as “his God and Father”.

Please note that the context always makes the God and Father separate from Lord Jesus.

Jesus:

(John 17:3) 3 This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.

Paul:

(Romans 15:5-6) 5 Now may the God who supplies endurance and comfort grant YOU to have among yourselves the same mental attitude that Christ Jesus had, 6 that with one accord YOU may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(1 Corinthians 15:24) 24 Next, the end, when he hands over the kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power.

(2 Corinthians 1:3) 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort,

(2 Corinthians 11:31) 31 The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, even the One who is to be praised forever, knows I am not lying.

(Galatians 1:3-5) 3 May YOU have undeserved kindness and peace from God our Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ. 4 He gave himself for our sins that he might deliver us from the present wicked system of things according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

(Ephesians 1:3) 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for he has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in union with Christ,

(Ephesians 1:17) 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give YOU a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the accurate knowledge of him;

(Ephesians 4:6) 6 one God and Father of all [persons], who is over all and through all and in all.

(Ephesians 5:20) 20 in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ giving thanks always for all things to our God and Father.

(Philippians 4:20) 20 Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

(1 Thessalonians 1:3-4) 3 for we bear incessantly in mind YOUR faithful work and [your] loving labor and [your] endurance due to [your] hope in our Lord Jesus Christ before our God and Father. 4 For we know, brothers loved by God, his choosing of YOU,

(1 Thessalonians 3:11-13) 11 Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus direct our way prosperously to YOU. 12 Moreover, may the Lord cause YOU to increase, yes, make YOU abound, in love to one another and to all, even as we also do to YOU; 13 to the end that he may make YOUR hearts firm, unblamable in holiness before our God and Father at the presence of our Lord Jesus with all his holy ones.

James:

(James 1:27) 27 The form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation, and to keep oneself without spot from the world.

Peter:

(1 Peter 1:3-4) 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for according to his great mercy he gave us a new birth to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an incorruptible and undefiled and unfading inheritance. It is reserved in the heavens for YOU,

John:

(Revelation 1:5-6) 1 A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place. And he sent forth his angel and presented [it] in signs through him to his slave John, 5 . . .To him that loves us and that loosed us from our sins by means of his own blood— 6 and he made us to be a kingdom, priests to his God and Father—yes, to him be the glory and the might forever. Amen.

Jesus, Paul, James, Peter and John all taught the same.

As to Atonement and Salvation, You are mislead about these also.

.
Reply:You seem to have missed a few Gospel passages:

Mark 14:62 And Jesus said, I AM: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. :63 Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses? :64 Ye have heard the blasphemy:...

John 8:19 Then they said unto Him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also. 20 These words spake Jesus in the treasurey, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.

John 8:24, "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I AM, you will die in your sins."

John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM.
Reply:Non-sense! All this Anti-Christian stuff is garbage and bad history.
Reply:While I am not a Christian, I agree that the non-Trinitarian view of God seems more sensible. You might want to look at the non-Trinitarian versions of Christianity.

I would suggest looking into these Christian churches which are all non-Trinitarian: Jehovah's Witnesses, Christadelphians, Bible Students, American Unitarian Conference, Arian Catholic Church, Oneness Pentecostal, UU Christian Fellowship, etc. Swedenborgianism (look up Swedenborg on Wikipedia) was also non-Trinitarian. Perhaps one of these may speak to your condition. You can find all of them doing an online search.

While it is true that LDS Mormons do not believe in the Trinity, they have a doctrine of Godhead and eternal progression which is more polytheistic than monotheistic.
Reply:In a single word, Yes

Without Paul Christianity would have likely been a small Jewish sect that would have likely died out just as the Sadducees did.
Reply:Ijust have a question, then:

Did PAUL die for our sins, or did Christ?

I never see Paul promoting himself, but I DO see him giving ALL credit to Jesus.
Reply:You need to go back and read the whole Bible every word you have missed a lot.
Reply:It is quite funny that Paul would be the creator of a religion of people he persecuted and killed before converting himself.
Reply:Yes all these are true facts...but no christian will accept it..

they are brain washed from their young age and even if they know that their religion is a construct of all false ideas %26amp; beliefs, they still keep propagating those things and keep saying theirs is the only truth...

pity jesus, for he has become the reason for destroying centuries and centuries old of civilization and bring in a way of life which is completely intolerant and doesnt suit humanity to meet its actual final goal.

No religion is false, its like going from truth to higher truth...

our life is a constant search for truth..

but every religion has false ideas and beliefs..that was made over time...

its really bad that christians only follow the false ideas and beliefs and leave away the truth behind their religion.
Reply:No Christianity is following Jesus. Jesus picked his disciples and spent years teaching them and preparing them for life without him. Paul (Saul) killed Christians until he accepted Jesus. Paul spent the rest of his life working for Christ. Christianity is faith in God thought Jesus, not in Paul.
Reply:It was started by Jesus Himself. He sent His disciples out to preach the gospel. It wasn't started by Paul, or Peter, or Constantine. It was started by Jesus. That's the very reason He came. He came to die for our sins. It was GOD'S plan of salvation, not Paul's, not Peter's. GOD'S!

Paul was selected by Jesus Himself to spread the Word. Paul didn't go looking for it. He was killing Christian's for crying out loud. It was Jesus who stopped him on that road, and blinded him, and then showed him the LIGHT. Paul didn't make this stuff up. The Bible is the inspired word of God. It speaks the truth, and that's all it can do, because it comes from God. You can question it all you want, but I know the truth, and so do all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.

It isn't "Paul's" religion. It's Jesus' Truth. God Bless
Reply:In my opinion it is Paulism. He had quite an agenda and he was a spy. Like I've always said. Xianity was an ingenious plan. It has destroyed the will of the people and kept them in a prison of their own making.
Reply:Pizzaboy, you really need to study the Bible yourself, with prayer, asking for wisdom, knowledge and understanding of the will of God.

God be with you,

William, a bond-servant of Jesus

Reply:Well, don't forget that a lot of it is also Augustiniaism.

So blend Paulism with Augustinianism and there ya have it.
Reply:I would recommend you to please log on to metahistroy.org and read the works of John Lash on Gnosticism before you come to any conclusion in this regard. But visit this site with an open mind and it can change your views forever.
Reply:Yes. Christianity could have come into being without Jesus, but never without Paul.
