Because the conservative-biased media is no longer interested in serving as America's 'Fourth Estate', which was intended to keep people informed and keep government honest. Their only interest these days is the profit motive, so they simply read the news from press released prepared for them by the Bush administration, which spoon-feeds only that news which Bush believe is pertinent. The media questions nothing, investigates no one, and fails to serve as America's watchdog against government waste, fraud, crime, and corruption. So politicians can get away with anything and continue to suck off the taxpayers' teat.





As long as they can distract us with non-binding resolutions about flag burning and gay marriage, nothing will change. The current U.S. Congress is the most incompetent, corrupt, evil, cowardly Congress in American history. The 'report' the news verbatim as provided to them by the White House press officer and don't question the veracity or intent behind what the federal government released.





Then there's the conservative blabbermouths who pose as "journalists" on Fox News and the Rush Limbaugh "show". The 'commentators' on Fox News are nothing more than propaganda machines for the Republican Party, and the "ditto heads" who take everything these toxic-wasters say at face value are just as obtuse as the media.

The media has turned into a lackadaisical endeavor made up of "shouting heads" who offer no rational balance, no objectivity, no intervention, and no protection from the lies, untruths, half truths, and "spin" from our government. They suck it all in and spit it all out, usually with unprecedented venom and incivility.


There is no room for reasonable, intelligent debate or fairness. Just spit it all out like so much garbage to be picked up by lost lambs who feel comfortable with such machismo, manipulation and intimidation.





These people are crude, hate-mongering liars who have devastated America's sense of civility and decorum. They've taken our right to "freedom of expression" to an all-time low, believing that they should be allowed to say anything without any accountability for its accuracy, honesty or fairness.





Bush and the media have been in bed together far too long. The curious thing is that Bush, just like Hitler, tries to control the media. He leaks information to the press when it conveniently fits his agenda; then he tries to censure the press when it prints something he wanted to keep secret. Once our government takes control of our free press, we are doomed to a diet of pabulum wherein nothing will be questioned or investigated. That - along with the freedom to worship as they pleased - was one of the primary reasons so many Europeans migrated here in the first place. Our founding fathers are probably rolling over in their graves watching what evil lurks within the conspiratorial minds of media and government executives. -RKO-

Did you not notice the control of the media? They could only report during the Iraq invasion as imbedded reporters - they could not just report as they wished. Questioning the President at that time was not good business for the media.
Reply:He didn't announce "Mission Accomplished". That was a sign hung by the ship's crew. The White House and Bush had nothing to do with it.
