If he is 16 years older than you, then it depends on how old you are. If you are a minor, then there is a huge problem, legally. If you are over 18 years old and you want to date someone who is that much older than you, then go for it. Tell those who make rude comments that if you wanted their opinion, you would ask for it. You need to decide for yourself what makes you happy. Does he? Does he give more than he takes? Do you have things in common? Does he treat you with respect and as his equal?
